Almost ideal conditions right through the growing season made decision making in our vineyards a relatively easy task. Fruit set was excellent, so judicious crop reduction was required to enable full ripening and fruit concentration at harvest time.

The fruit that went into this wine was sourced from our Seventeen Valley vineyard in the Wairau Valley in Marlborough. This is one of our warmest vineyard sites and along with super low yields, produces the ripeness levels required for Syrah. Grapes were cold soaked, fermented in small parcels and aged for eleven months in French oak barriques.
