Raymond Chan - 2015
Pinot Noir fruit from the company’s ‘Litchfield’ vineyard, central Wairau, given 24 hours skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 3.5 g/L RS Bright, pale pink-red colour with some depth, lighter on the edge. This has a softly presented nose with a fresh core of bright strawberry and cream, cherry and cranberry fruits along with a subtle confectionary lift. There is an underlying steely freshness to the aromatics. Dry to taste, the mouthfeel is soft and rounded with a gentle heart of quince, strawberries and cranberries. The mouthfeel is smooth-flowing with a suggestion of unctuousness, and the wine flows a soft-textured line with integrated acidity. Some savoury confectionary elements emerge and the wine leads to a dry, fine-textured finish with watermelon nuances. This is a soft, fresh-fruited rosé with strawberry, cranberry and watermelon flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2 years. 17.0-/20 Nov 2015 RRP $18.99
Our Limited Release Rosé was made from Pinot Noir grapes from our Litchfield vineyard in the
central Wairau Valley.
Grapes were crushed and destemmed prior to being held in our press for 24 hours before being
gently juiced to tank. Fermentation was induced by the introduction of carefully selected yeast strains.
We fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve the lifted aromatics in this wine.
Luscious berry fruit flavours combined with bright acidity and a hint of spritz make this the perfect summer drink. Lifted red berry notes and a hint of vanilla greet you on the nose.
