Bob Campbell of The Real Review gave 91 points and 4 stars.
"Weighty pinot gris with Gala apple, poached pear and citrus flavours. A clever balance of sweetness with tangy acidity leaves a pleasantly drying and moderately lengthy finish. Terrific buying at this price."

Michael Cooper gave 4 stars in his article 'This year's top pinot gris picks from New Zealand' published in the October 13, 2018 issue of the New Zealand Listener.
"Bargain-priced, this is a full-bodied (13% alc/vol), fresh wine with pear, peach, lychee and spice flavours, showing good varietal character. An off-dry style, it is attractively scented with excellent delicacy and vibrancy."

The Sunday Telegraph, 28th October 2018 - "WHILE New Zealand's Marlborough region is far better known for its gobsmacking sauvignon blancs, pinot gris is seriously making up ground in the wine stakes. This inviting drop is crammed with refreshing spicy flavours, distinctive apple-pear nuances. A most welcome import."

The grapes for this wine were grown in the Wairau and Awatere Valley’s of Marlborough. The
Awatere fruit provides freshness and acidity and the Wairau fruit a riper flavour spectrum. Warm
summer temperatures made for the perfect conditions to create mouthwatering flavours in this
classic Mount Riley wine.

We harvested the fruit during the night in cool temperatures so that the natural flavours and
aromatics were preserved. The grapes were gently pressed and the juice settled prior to fermentation.
A small percentage was fermented in barrel to accentuate texture and complexity in the wine while
the remainder was fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to retain the bright, varietal
aromatics.
