It's immediately appealing on the nose showing red cherry, plum, floral and subtle spice complexity. The palate is juicy and vibrant with lovely fruit intensity, nicely framed by polished tannins. Well balanced and flavoursome. At its best: now to 2017

Moderately deep ruby-red colour with light, youthful purple hues on rim. The nose is soft, light and harmoniously presented with aromas of ripe strawberry fruit, hints of spices, herbs and an intriguing bergamot citrus note. Medium-bodied, light, sweet fruit flavours of strawberries and raspberries are entwined with soft herb, orange and red floral elements, building to form a good core and firm line. The palate has good vinosity and presence, with the extraction providing plenty of mouthfeel. The wine is carried by the structure to a soft-textured, dry, lingering finish. This is a soft, textural Pinot Noir with underlying sweet strawberry flavours. Match with duck and pork dishes over the next 4 years. Fruit from a number of different sites in the Wairau Valley, given a cold soak and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in French oak barriques.

The grapes that went into this wine were sourced from multiple vineyard sites throughout the Wairau Valley in Marlborough. Multiple vineyard parcels and clonal material means we can make a complex and complete wine with great fruit character and depth of flavour. Grapes were cold soaked, fermented in small parcels and aged for nine months in French barriques.
